Feeling Appy

The Perfect Apps For Back-To-School Apps

I'm feeling a little appy today and had decided to present a short list of my favorite apps and why I love them so much! I'm sure many of you will be familiar with some of the apps that I will list.

App Number One: Pinterest

If you don't already know this about me, I love Pinterest! This app is so interactive and fun because you get to make new, creative friends and get creative help. For example, DIY's and academic ideas for science. Pinterest is amazing and it's a colorful, fun place that you and your friends can communicate with. In this app, you make your own theme boards, where you pin pictures from other pinners around the world on to those boards!

    App Number Two: Wattpad

Wattpad is such an awesome literary app because it's interactive, educational and fun! While on Wattpad, you can browse the large selection of stories that Wattpad has to offer or start to write your own stories. If you're feeling a little bored and only own a computer and not a smart phone, then chat with your friends on there too.  I honestly thank one of my good friends for introducing me to this app because it's such a inspiring website and every morning when you see over 100 reads on your book, it makes your day.

   App Number Three: YouTube

YouTube is life to me because I get to see my favorite people whenever I want and I can catch up with my favorite internet sensations at anytime. Everyone knows what YouTube is and you can connect it to your Google+ too. On YouTube, you can subscribe to your favorite channels and comment under your favorite videos(Please comment responsibly!).

    App Number Four: Pic Collage

If you're a twitter fanatic or Pinterest fanatic, then you might know what this app's function is. Pic Collage is an app that's title is self-explanatory. On Pic Collage you make your own customized picture collage! I've made an assortment of collages since I've downloaded the app. It's really fun and can definitely be time consuming, so spend time on your phone wisely!

   App Number Five: Flipagram

Flipagram is an app that Vine fanatics are most likely obsessed with, aside from Vine and YouTube of course. Flipagram is allows you to make a motion picture with your photos! It's really fun and cool to do, especially because you can add background music to it! Flipigrams don't have to be about you, but your favorite internet sensations, celebrities and friends!

App Numbers Six and Seven: Cash Dash and Kardashian

Cash Dash is an app from the 26MGMT company, which manages some of vines top superstars. From Cameron Dallas to Carter Reynolds. On this app, you can play any of the four clients that 26MGMT manages as you move them through different puzzles or paths. I always play one person when I get on that game. This game is honestly hard because certain levels can be very challenging, but some people somehow manage to make it to level 84. Anyway, now on to Kardashian. I am honestly, so lucky that I got to be a C-List celebrity on this interactive game. I believe that I'm a pretty ardent player, but then again I've basically abandoned this game for a while. On this app, you create your own avatar(male or female) and you work your way up from an E-List to A-List celebrity by doing photo shoots and upgrading your lifestyle. I recommend getting this game because it's entertaining and exciting after you see your progress on it.

    App Number Eight: Spotify

Spotify is truly an amazing app. I was convinced to finally get this app by Bethany Mota and have enjoyed it ever since. On Spotify, you can create your own playlists, follow your favorite musicians, as well as listen to them. I don't know if this applies to your school, but I can use my smart phone during lunch and in the hallway with Spotify at my grasp. If you want to follow my playlist(which I'm always adding new songs to), then type in Back To School (Pick Me Up) and I you will see about 66 songs and counting on my playlist.

I have many more apps that I love, but this is just a small list of them. Comment and let me know what you want me to blog about, questions and whether or not you want me to do another article listing more of my favorite apps.

Back-To-School Reading Lists

My Book Recommendations for the Upcoming School Year

Don't get discouraged by the title because the books that I have for you are pretty interesting and
I think many of you will really like them. Remember, books aren't ours enemies. Books are our teachers and friends when we need to learn and enjoy something more productive during our leisure time. Without further ado, MY BOOK SELECTIONS:

Selection One: Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia by Kendall and Kylie Jenner

This book is not only perfect for adventurous readers, but for fans of the Jenner sisters. Sadly, I haven't read this book yet, but I can tell you how to get your hands on a copy and a sneak peak. The synopsis for this book is quite intriguing and it immediately makes you want to the book. It has been publicly released to many well known online retailers, such as Amazon, Target and Barnes&Noble. Amazon also carries an online preview of the book and it's free! According to E! News, this novel is about two girls that live polar opposite lives and decide to defy the expectations put on their gender.

Selection Two: Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief  by Rick Riordan

This book is perfect for the little kid and dreamer in you. As a little kid, I loved to fantasize about having magical powers and wanting to have them. While reading this book, you'll find out about a very special little boy and his special gift. I'm reading this book now and so far, it doesn't disappoint. You will also meet Percy Jackson's best friend, Grover and his teacher, Chiron (Percy didn't call his teacher Chiron at first, but you have to read to find out his teacher's formal name). Within the first few chapters, you'll get glimpse into the rough life that Percy has had to live and one event might almost lead you to tears. So, definitely read this book to find out about this troubled boy's life.

Selection Three: Divergent by: Veronica Roth

Divergent is a very popular book right now and it was really hard to get a copy of it at my local library, but I managed to eventually get and it's really good. Within the first few chapters, you'll truly understand who Beatrice or Tris is and get to know her family and factions. It's very intriguing because every faction is so different, but yet they work in harmony. This book isn't just about the romance, but the action and adventure that plagues your mind as you read it.

Reading can be fun and interesting, especially when it comes to adventures and dark romance(My favorite genres). Reading can be made portable and fun too. There are apps, such as iBooks and Google Play that allow you take books with you wherever you go. Reading also helps to improve your vocabulary and that can help when it comes to school mandated tests, but never forget reading can be...FUN! Give reading a chance and I bet you'll love if you don't already.

Comment below(P.S if you don't already know, I love comments and appreciate that along with ratings) and tell me what you would like for me to read and what you recommend for your friends to read during back to school.

Study Tips!

Studying Tips For the Upcoming School Year

Yes, it's that time of year again. When homework becomes apart of your afternoon routine and the taste of school lunches fill your mouth before dinner every night. This article is here to teach you how to handle the stress of tests and quizzes during what some may call "the most dreadful time of year".

No Electronic Distractions

I love going on my phone and checking up on my favorite celebrities as much as the next teenager, but because electronics withhold so much of our attention, they're not the best to have around when studying. Although, if you like to hear music while you are studying and don't believe it will distract you, then go ahead and play music. Although, I prefer to play music on a break. My mom often tells me this phrase when she feels I'll forget about something, "Out of sight, out of mind". This phrase can apply to this tip because I think that it's best to keep your phone, computer or television out of sight when studying because if you're always distracted, you'll never study anything needed to pass your test.

Make Studying Portable

If you're obsessed with your phone and can't possibly put it down, then you're in luck because you're phone is a studying tool in and of itself. Applications or apps, such as Voice Memos, Notes, Microsoft Office Mobile and Docs are very helpful during studying. If you're a visual learner, then ask your teacher to send you the PowerPoint(s) from class earlier that day or week and use those to study. Chances are, your teacher used graphics in the PowerPoint that may come in handy. If you're also a visual learner, then typing is definitely for you. I frequently use my self entitled, "typing technique" when studying because not only does it help, but it occupies your hands during studying. I would first memorize the phrase or definition in which I needed to study for and then, I would type in the definition in the Notes app to make sure that I've fully memorized the definition(compare the typed definition to the one written on paper). The Microsoft Office Mobile and Docs app can be used to open up PowerPoints or Word documents emailed to you. They can also be used to try out my "typing technique". However, if you prefer to listen to something while studying, then why not listen to the sound of your own voice? This tool is quite helpful because if you're a music fanatic, then you always have a pair of earphones with you and can listen to the work you have to study for everywhere at anytime. The last studying tool that I have is...index cards! I wanted to include this tool because it never grows old and one of my favorite YouTubers, Bethany Mota mentioned it. Index cards are not only portable, but they're quite creative. On one side of the index card, you can draw an illustration and write the phrase or definition you need to memorize on the other.

Time Management

MAKE TIME TO STUDY! My sister often tells me to plan myself out and now I'm going to lend that advice to you. I often plan out my after-school schedule mentally, but I also own a planner that helps me remember the specific time I want to complete certain tasks throughout the day. Planners do help, but if you're obsessed with your phone then, your Reminders app helps too because it takes the place of a physical planner and makes it mobile.

Access to Friends

Having access to friends is very important. Don't just take my word for it, but take famous YouTuber, Bethany Mota for it(Check out her YouTube videos). When I hate studying by myself, I usually e-mail or Kik a friend to make quizzing exciting and a little less pressure filled. I would message a friend who's as serious about the test or quiz as you are because you still want to maintain a steady focus while studying because every grade counts toward your final grade of the semester.

Studying is important and does pay off in the long run when you see that huge A on your test or quiz and rewards from your parents in the future. Happy Studying!

Back-To-School Fashions For Teenage Girls

                      BACK-TO-SCHOOL STYLE GUIDE

Every teenage girl wants to go back to school feeling confident and comfortable. I believe that these traits start with your personality and then...fashion. Luckily, if you struggle as much as I do when shopping for a new look, this article could help you.

Preppy Chic

You're probably asking what "preppy chic" is and I wouldn't blame you. The word "chic" isn't often paired with preppy, but the style is commonly displayed. Another question that you would probably ask is, "how do I obtain this look?". This style is quite accessible and can be made from about every store. For example, every preppy chic girl has to own at least two-three plaid items. A buttoned, plaid top paired with a bow tie and some leggings would be perfect! A common shoe choice for this style would include fitted Converses or ballet flats with stockings. Ballet flats with stockings brings me to my final outfit choice for this style type. If you pair the ballet flats and stockings with an argyle print sweater and a solid-colored skirt, you'll match the style flawlessly. Not to mention that "nerdy" glasses are a must with this style. Don't just take my word for it, but check out other magazines, such as Teen Vogue or Seventeen for their expert advice.

Sporty

The "sporty" style is quite popular and well known. In my opinion, it's the simplest style to shop for because it's not as complicated as the others. I've noticed that color goes a long way in this style category. I go to school with many sporty people and had noticed that there was never a day that went by, where they didn't have a splash of color on one of their shirts or shorts. Color is one of my favorite aspects about this style type. With that being said, color can be dangerous(not serious danger, just fashion danger). Pairing a solid-colored top with a solid-colored hoodie and a pair shorts would fit the bill for this style. The perfect pair of shoes to go with this style are color coordinating tennis shoes with knee or mid-leg socks. Just remember: Don't overuse bright colors. It's okay to pair black socks with a pink top and black gym shorts.

Bohemian Babe

This style is perfect for people that like the sixties and for everyone that wants to pay tribute to the organic colors and prints of this style type. The clothes in this style are comfy and radiant. I'm actually subscribed to this amazing, up and coming artist named Naelee Rae and she's loves the sixties. In her Summer Everyday/Festival video, she wears a beautiful floral dress. A floral dress is a MUST have when it comes to this style type, but floral dresses are just the beginning. Accessories are so much fun and matter when it comes to this style type as well. From fringe to feathers, you can never complete an outfit without them. One outfit example includes a short sleeve cream top with crochet details on the sleeves, a brown pleated skirt, a brown fringe vest with matching loafers or ballet flats. Oh and you can't forget your accessories! I would wear baby pink or cream feather earrings and a long gold fringe necklace. Going back to school with this style is a breeze because it's comfy and so much fun!

Urban

This style is the most expressive by far because there are no boundaries when it comes to it. This style is so creative! An outfit that you could put together may include a tiger muscle tee with denim shorts and original style Converse shoes. Did I mention that accessories also go a long way in this style too? Well, they do. From hoops to bangles and chunky necklaces, the sky's the limit for urban accessories! This style can include graphic tees, muscle tees, tank tops, crop tops and denim pieces of clothing(shorts, jeans and jean jackets).

Girly Girl

I love seeing this style on people because it's super fun and cute! The best thing to pair with this style is bows! If you're a Motavator(Bethany Mota fan), then you know that bows are the best accessory to have. Whether they're in your hair, on your neck or your wrist, bows are a MUST have with this style type. An outfit like this can include a skater skirt, a short sleeve shirt, blazer and ankle boots with a bow of your choice.

Experimenting with fashion is fun and exciting! If you're anything like me, then you find fashion to be an extension of your identity. Do as my blog says, but instead RUN FREE WITH FASHION!

P.S I would love to see in the comments if you took any of my advice when shopping, what interests you and if you want me to create any other back to school articles.
